The GRAB-D-USB3.1-HUB-4X is a 4 port USB3.1 Gen 2 hub that supports speeds of USB 3.1 SuperSpeed Plus (10Gbps), SuperSpeed (5Gbps), USB 2.0 Hi-Speed (480Mbps). It has a wide powerrange between 9-24VDC. The powersupply is not included. It includes a USB Type-A to Micro B cable is included. This hub is unique because you have the following options:
- One 12MP camera running at 32fps
- Two 12MP camera running at 32fps
- Three 12MP camera running at 28.8fps
- Four 12MP cameras running at 18fps each
In total we acquire 12*18*4= 864 MegaByte / second through the single USB3.1 Type-C port.
- One 12MP camera running at 32fps
- Two 12MP camera running at 12fps
- Four 12MP cameras running at 6fps each
This USB3.1 hub is the ideal solution if you have multiple cameras on a single machine.
Option 1, use the hub as a standard USB3 hub
With the standard cable that is included you can use this hub as a standard USB3 hub. This means when connecting multiple cameras the bandwith will be shared for the connected cameras. A 12MP camera can run max 32fps, when connecting 2x 12MP camera, the framerate of each camera drops to 12fps.Option 2, use the hub in USB3.1 10Gbps mode to connect multiple cameras without dropping framerate
To use the hub in USB3.1 superspeed plus 10Gbps mode, a USB Type-C to micro-B 3.1 Gen2-kabel ( CABLE-A-USB3.1C-0.9M) is required. Standard, this cable is not included. You can add it as an option. Please note that this cable has no screwlock connection. In this setup, the link between the USB-C port of the Laptop and USB3.1 hub is 2x higher (10Gbps) than standard. The link between the camera and the hub is 5Gbps. As a result you can operate two 12MP cameras at full 32fps framerate, from just one single USB-C port of a laptop. In our test setup, we are able to acquire from 1 single USB-C port simultaneously:- One 12MP camera running at 32fps
- Two 12MP camera running at 32fps
- Three 12MP camera running at 28.8fps
- Four 12MP cameras running at 18fps each
In total we acquire 12*18*4= 864 MegaByte / second through the single USB3.1 Type-C port.
Option 3, use the hub in combination with 10 or 20 meter extension cable
This hub also works with our USB3 10meter and 20meter highflex cable. The camera will run in USB3.0 mode. In this setup it's possible to go from PC with 10 or 20 meter cables to the USB3 hub. On the USB3 hub you can connect again 1 up to 4 cameras with a 4.6meter USB3 cable. When connecting the 12MP camera you will achieve the following framerates:- One 12MP camera running at 32fps
- Two 12MP camera running at 12fps
- Four 12MP cameras running at 6fps each
This USB3.1 hub is the ideal solution if you have multiple cameras on a single machine.
